Bandit's Midnight Heist

Help Bandit the raccoon pull off the silliest heist in bayou history — shiny spoons, Mama's pie tin, and a lesson about asking first.

🦝 Operation Sparkle Hands

"Partner. Tonight we make HISTORY. Or at least... dishwasher history."

Mama Magnolia's prize pie tin — the shiny one, the one that reflects stars — has been moved to the high shelf for "safekeeping." Bandit insists it has been imprisoned. He would like your help liberating it for a "temporary appreciation session."

Gumjo, floating nearby with only his eyes above water, mutters: "This is a bad idea. I am contractually obligated to say that. Also I want pie."

🧭 Choose Your Crew Role

You are the Lookout. Bandit is the Hands. Zip was invited but got bored 0.4 seconds into the briefing and is now racing fireflies.

Your job: watch the porch of Mama Magnolia's and signal if anyone wakes up.

Signal Options

  1. Ribbit once (you practice; it sounds like a squeaky door)
  2. Splash twice in the shallows (Gumjo can help)
  3. Do nothing and hope (Bandit's favorite plan)

🐊 Gumjo's advice

Splash twice. Ribbit once sounds like Ribbit Rose warming up, and then she will appear and demand a heist musical.

🚪 The Porch Creeps

You and Bandit tiptoe. Every board creaks like it knows his criminal record.

Obstacle 1 — The Sleeping Spoon Lantern

A jar of spoons hangs by the door "for atmosphere." Bandit's fingers twitch.

"We could liberate ONE spoon. As a snack for my collection."

What happens if you clink?

Old Shell, napping under the porch, opens one eye: "Back in my day, heists had standards." He goes back to sleep. Somehow this is worse than an alarm.

Obstacle 2 — Clawdia's Whisk

Clawdia left her whisk on the railing. It is still faintly spicy. Touching it makes your eyes water.

Bandit uses it as a grappling hook. This should not work. It works. He whispers, "I am a genius," which is historically how his plans fail.

🥧 The High Shelf

The pie tin gleams. Bandit climbs. You hold the chair (the chair did not agree to this).

Suddenly — footsteps. Mama Magnolia's soft ibis tread. She does not turn on the light. She simply says into the dark:

"Bandit. If that is you and a new friend on my good chair, you will put my tin back and stay for gumbo like civilized swamp gremlins."

Bandit freezes upside down. "Define civilized."

🌟 Endings (All Valid)

Ending A — Confess & Feast

You admit the heist. Mama laughs so hard a magnolia petal falls into the pot. You get gumbo. Bandit gets a wooden practice tin labeled PROPERTY OF LEARNING. He loves it anyway because it is slightly shiny.

Treasure of the night: Friendship calories.

Ending B — The Distraction

Gumjo "accidentally" belly-flops in the shallows. Everyone runs to see the splash. Bandit returns the tin and washes the spoons. He still steals one napkin. Balance.

Ending C — Zip Interrupts

Zip arrives mid-heist wearing the pie tin as a hat. "Found a helmet!" Parade to Gator Games energy. Mama confiscates the helmet-tin. You all scrub dishes. Bandit rates the night "8/10 — would heist again with more snacks."
