Who Is Bandit?

Bandit is a fast-talking raccoon with tiny hands that are always reaching for something. He was born with a bandit mask — he didn't choose the outlaw life, the outlaw life chose him. Speaks in elaborate schemes and treats every conversation like a negotiation he's already won.

His plans are 50% genius, 50% absolute disaster. The ratio has never improved. He's never been bothered by this ratio.

📜 History & Background

Nobody knows where Bandit came from. He just appeared one day at Mama Magnolia's, stole a biscuit, blamed it on Zip (who wasn't even there), and somehow talked his way into becoming Gumjo's right-hand raccoon.

His origins are a matter of bayou legend. Some say he was a city raccoon who got lost on a road trip and never found his way back. Some say he was a professional magician. Old Shell claims he once saw Bandit emerge from a hat, but Old Shell was "meditating" at the time, so.

What's known: Bandit is unwaveringly loyal to Gumjo, even when he's actively causing problems for Gumjo. He considers this a feature, not a bug.

🎭 Signature Moments

The Pie Incident — Mama Magnolia's famous Sweet Potato Pecan Pie went missing on a Tuesday. By Wednesday, it had been found half-eaten behind the root cellar. Bandit's defense: "I was testing it for poison. You're welcome."

The Bridge Caper — At Crawdad Creek, Bandit designed a distraction involving three separate decoys, a borrowed hat, and what he called a "confusion cloud." It worked. Nobody is more surprised than Bandit.

The Obstacle Course of Doom — Bandit designed and ran Event 5 of the Gator Games entirely himself. The vine swing was not secured. He maintains this was "atmospheric."

• Gumjo — Best friend. The only person Bandit would actually take a bullet for (theoretically).
• Mama Magnolia — Complicated. He steals her food. She feeds him anyway. Neither will explain why.
• Zip — She can run faster than Bandit can scheme, which he finds deeply annoying.
